Climate resilience for huts across the Alps
RES4ALPS is building a model to assess how vulnerable mountain huts and alpine pasture huts are to climate change — and to identify concrete adaptation measures for the cross-border Alpine region.
What we do
Understanding vulnerability
We collect data on buildings, water and energy supply and the economic activities around them, and bring it together in a georeferenced database.
Testing solutions
Working with students, we design and build low-carbon, circular timber structures that are installed at pilot facilities.
Sharing knowledge
Vulnerability maps, resilience booklets and a multilingual handbook make the results usable for communities, hut operators and public authorities.
Three pilot areas, one cross-border model
Salzburg
Austrian Alpine Club huts in the Salzburg region.
Belluno
Dolomiti Bellunesi National Park.
Carnia
The LAG Euroleader area, Friuli Venezia Giulia.
